The period for the development, normally three and a half years, was greatly shortened by the close collaboration among the design, engineering and manufacturing departments. The T90 took only two years to be marketed. It proclaimed its primary purpose, "human-friendly tool," an extension of the human eye and the human hand, with the smooth curved surfaces and unprecedented multifunctionality. Such functions include the power saving design of the build-in motor drive which can shoot up to 4.5 frames per second (fps) with four AA batteries, and three exposure metering modes.
The T90 was able to wipe out the design concept that had been firmly established in conventional cameras, and triggered the bio-design boom in cameras that followed. The first T90 was proudly presented to Colani engraved "L. COLANI.
